Individual and Relationship Therapy for Asian, Queer, & Polyamorous folx
Online therapy with hybrid option for residents of Berkeley, Oakland, Fremont, and the rest of East Bay
Welcome. I offer liberation-oriented, culturally responsive therapy for individuals, couples(+), and teens living in the East Bay, including Oakland, Berkeley, Fremont, and surrounding communities. My work is grounded in a deep understanding of how culture, power, and intergenerational histories shape our psychic lives and relationships.
I am a first-generation Asian therapist, and my practice centers clients who are marginalized by dominant culture. Most of my clients identify as part of the Asian diaspora, BIPOC, LGBTQ+, or polyamorous. I am kink-, poly-, and neurodivergent-affirming.
Clients I work with often seek therapy for:
Anxiety, depression, and chronic stress
Burnout, workplace microaggressions, and systemic pressure
Grief and loss, including loss of culture, ancestral connection, or motherland
Navigating neurodivergence or relationship dynamics related to ADHD
Recurrent relationship or family conflicts, particularly across racial, cultural or intergenerational lines
Intergenerational trauma and the impact of systemic oppression
Exploration of sexuality, gender, polyamory, kink, or intersecting identities.
I serve:
Individuals seeking depth-oriented, culturally-attuned care
Couples and relationships (+), including BIPOC, inter-racial or inter-cultural, and open or polyamorous relationships
Teens, with attention to identity development and social and cultural contexts
My approach:
I draw from depth and liberation psychology, listening to both conscious and unconscious communications and to your broader social and historical context. Together, we explore the roots of your challenges you are facing towards the creating the life and relationships you desire.
For relationships, I combine emotionally-focused therapy with my liberation orientation, attending to both shifting recurrent cycles of conflict and to bringing consciousness of cultural differences and power dynamics, helping partners build emotional safety, understanding, and deeper connection.
Flexible hybrid online/in-person option for East Bay residents:
Many East Bay clients appreciate the ability to meet online most weeks, while having the option to come in person periodically to my Downtown San Francisco Office, which is right by BART and is ADA accessible. This hybrid rhythm can be especially helpful for:
Deepening relational or couples work
Navigating moments of transition or relational rupture
Grounding the therapeutic relationship at key points
Accommodating busy schedules, caregiving, or access needs
Together, we can collaboratively decide what balance of online and in-person sessions feels most supportive for you.
To explore how we might work together:
I invite you to book a free, 20min consult call to discuss what you’re seeking, how we might work together, and to answer any questions you may have. If you are seeking relationship or teen therapy, feel free to add your partner(s) or teen to the call. I look forward to connecting with you.
