Couples Therapy in San Francisco for Asian, BIPOC, Queer & Poly Relationships
In person in San Francisco or online in the Bay Area, Los Angeles, San Diego, & across California
I offer relationship therapy for couples, polycules, and people in queer, Asian, BIPOC, inter-racial, and inter-cultural relationships. Whether you're facing a rupture, moving through a transition, or simply longing to feel closer, therapy offers a space to reconnect with intention. Therapy facilitates partners to uncover the roots of conflict, strengthen communication, and create mutual understanding and emotional safety.
I work with partners who are:
Navigating life transitions—like marriage, separation, becoming parents, or opening their relationship
Stuck in patterns of conflict or power struggles
Rebuilding trust after infidelity or betrayal
Longing to rekindle intimacy, deepen emotional connection, or improve communication
I have a special interest in working with:
Asian, BIPOC, and inter-racial and inter-cultural couples navigating cultural tensions and power dynamics
Relationships where one or more partners have ADHD
Partners exploring polyamory, open relationships, or kink, BDSM, or other alternative sexualities
My approach is liberation-oriented, culturally-informed, and neuro-diversity, kink and poly-affirming. I pay close attention to how power dynamics show up both within relationships and in therapy. Living and working in the San Francisco Bay Area, I also understand how a fast-paced work culture, cultural differences, and shifting relationship norms can affect how we connect.
I invite you to book a free 20min consult with me, where you'd get an idea if we're a good fit for each other. We’ll discuss what you’re seeking, how we might work together, and any questions you may have. You’re welcome to add your partner(s) to the call. I look forward to connecting with you!

I blend psychoanalytic, emotionally-focused, and liberation-oriented lenses. I pay close attention to how power and social identities show up in your relationship and in the therapy space, helping partners cultivate emotional safety, shared understanding, and rekindle connection.

In the first session, we explore what you’re seeking and your relationship history. Early sessions also focus on each partner’s personal, intergenerational, and cultural context. After that, we work on recurring patterns or the issues most pressing for the couple. I try my best to ensure each partner has equal space over the course of therapy.

I generally meet with couples on a weekly basis, and length of our work can vary between a dozen sessions to several months or longer, depending on the challenges couples are facing and the depth of the work desired.
-
I can work with couples in a mix of English and Cantonese. If you’re seeking fully Cantonese-only couples therapy, I’m happy to help with referrals.
